- The _n_e_w_e_r command compares the modification times (in seconds since
- 00:00:00 UTC, Jan. 1, 1970) of the two files given as arguments. If
- _f_i_l_e_1 was modified more recently than _f_i_l_e_2, or if either file does not
- exist, then the _n_e_w_e_r command returns a status of 0. Otherwise it
- returns a status of 1.

- The /_v_a_r/_X_1_1/_x_d_m/_X_s_e_s_s_i_o_n._d_t script uses the _n_e_w_e_r command. The _n_e_w_e_r
- command is not intended to be run directly by the end user, unless the
- user is writing shell scripts.
